Mental Notes is the debut EP (extended play) by the American singer Alli Fitz. It will be released on March 27th, 2020.
Background
In many interviews from 2017 such as Sweety High or All Access Music, Alli said that she would release an EP by the end of 2018. That EP was never released. In the interviews, Alli said that the main theme of this album would be relationship breakups.
Alli said in a Q&A video from April 2019 that she will release an album by the end of the year, indicating that an EP wouldn't be released.[1] In a TikTok livestream from August 2019, Alli responded to a fan that her debut album might be released that year, as she has enough songs for it.
However, on November 6th, she confirmed on Twitter that her debut EP is finished.[2] She responded to a fan that she will try to release it in 2019.[3]
On February 27th, Alli took it to social media to annouce the EP and its cover art.[4] She announced the EP on Twitter and her second Instagram account.[5] A day later, she revealed the tracklist on Twitter.[6]
The EP was made for digital pre-ordering on March 7th.[7]

Trivia
- To promote the single "Only For The Night" which released on December 13th, Alli told her fans to text her a screenshot of them purchasing the single, and she would text back the cover art of her EP.[8]
- The cover work was drawn by @_Kaydachii_ on Twitter.
- Alli has a second Instagram account with the username mentaln0tez, which was created in November 2018.[9]
- Alli confirmed in a tweet that she thought about adding her previous singles to the EP's tracklist, but decided not to.[10]
