What was the inspiration behind your single, “Disease”?
My inspiration was a past relationship that I was in which was really toxic for me because of the way he treated the relationship. He didn’t care at all.
What advice would you give to any of your fans who may be in a similar relationship?
I would tell them to get out of that relationship as soon as they can because it’s not worth it at all. Everyone’s worthy of someone who actually wants to be with them.
How did you come up with the concept for the music video?
I wanted a lot of cool visuals for this video because it was my first original music video. We used visuals to show the “disease” making me weak at first, but then I showed it who’s boss! [laughs]
Everyone is dying to know, when can we expect a full-length album?
The crystal ball is telling me…some time in 2018! [laughs]
When did you realize you wanted to pursue music and how has social media impacted your career?
I realized I wanted to pursue music at a very young age—I would say eight-years-old. Social media has impacted my career tons and I’m so thankful for it. It has helped me overcome my fear of singing in front of large crowds, and also it’s helped me be able to promote my music to people who want to listen.
Who are some of your musical influences?
Dua Lipa, Demi Lovato, Zara Larsson, and Moxie Raia!
If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be and why?
I’m going to say Demi Lovato. I think our voices would be bomb together.
You’re an advocate for female empowerment. Who are some of the women who have helped shaped the person you are today?
Definitely my mom and sisters, 100%. They have shown me how to be a strong, independent woman, even when things get tough. Also my favorite female artists have helped shape me to be the person I am today because of the music that they write. It’s so empowering.
